The popular land-based casino operator Groupe Partouche reported a year-on-year increase in revenue by 490.4%. This revenue is for the second quarter of the company’s 2021/22 financial year, which comes after the reopening of its casino.
Groupe Partouche had a gross gaming revenue of €148.2 million for the 3 months through the 30th of April, 2022. Compared to the same period 2020/21, this is an increase of €113.1 million.
This massive increase occurred as a result of the reopening of the land-based casino in France. These establishments didn’t work in Q2 of 2020/21 due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
However, its Swiss properties were operating only towards the end of the same period. Its sole casino in Tunisia was also open but with a 10PM curfew. Partouche stated that other activities impacted the quarter, including selling its stake in the Swiss casino, Crans-Montana. It also stopped its online gambling offerings in Belgium.
In terms of online gaming activities, the company noted that it generated a total of €3.3 million in Q2 in Switzerland alone. This is an increase of 200$ compared to the previous year.
The net gaming revenue of Partouche for the quarter was €70.8 million after including the gambling taxes and levies payments of €77.4 million. In 2020/21, the same revenue was €22 million, which shows that in 2021/22 the revenue went up by 221.8%.
This operator also gained an extra €18.7 million in non-gaming revenue. After the accounting of €500,000 in costs, the company’s final revenue was €89.1 million. In other words, the revenue went up by 277.5% year-on-year.
When we look at the first half, we will notice that the gross gaming revenue at the end of April 2022 was €290 million. This is a massive increase of 480% from the previous year’s revenue of just €50 million.
