Raging Rex 2

The first Raging Rex title was praised by most punters, so much so that Play’n Go decided to run it back for a second time. That said, the two titles share many similarities, but new mechanics and a fresh appearance have been introduced to the Raging Rex 2 slot.

As for the board itself, it sits on the outskirts of a forest, with pink and yellow flowers visible on either side. Interestingly, animated dragonflies can also hover behind or in front of the board, all while an adventure-themed track plays in the background.

As we discussed earlier, this slot was created by the infamous Play’n Go. Since the company was formed in 2005, its team has been working hard to release visually appealing and entertaining titles from a mechanics standpoint.

Before we look at what’s changed regarding the bonus mechanic, let’s explore all of the symbols in Raging Rex 2. Up first are the standard icons, all of which revolve around different animals that have been sealed in resin, including a mosquito, a spider, a dung beetle, a scorpion, a dragonfly, and a lizard.

Premiums in this title are a little more detailed and are shown as a pachycephalosaurus, a stegosaurus, a brachiosaurus, and an ankylosaurus, which can award players with up to 6x, 6x, 7.5x, or 7.5x their stake size, respectively.

Raging Rex 2 also comes with a wild symbol, shown as a golden tyrannosaurus rex, that can replace any standard or premium icon, if a combination is possible as a result. Last but not least is the scatter, shown as a fiery meteor.

Should one of these wild symbols land fully stacked, which is possible on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5, the respin modifier will trigger. The wild will become sticky, and after every spin, move one reel to the left, with matching combinations being evaluated between each. When the wild icon reaches reel 1, a final respin will be awarded before it falls off the board.

Arguably, one of the most popular features in the original Raging Rex was the ability to pick between two different bonus modes.

Play’n Go has taken things one step further in this sequel, and should players land 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter icons simultaneously, they will be awarded with 5x, 10x, 25x, or 100x their stake size, while also being prompted to pick between three bonuses.

The first bonus is known as ‘Primal Fury‘, awarding players with 8, 12, 16, or 20 free spins, depending on how many scatter icons triggered the round. During this mode, a fully stacked wild will walk randomly across the reels but will not fall off the board.

Next is ‘Hatchling Mania‘ mode, which can award players with 7, 9, 11, or 13 spins. All 1×1 wilds become sticky during this round. However, fully stacked variations will not appear.

Finally, the ‘Jurassic Mayhem‘ mode awards 5, 7, 9, or 11 free spins. This round involves all wild icons being sticky, regardless of whether they are fully stacked or not. After each spin, all wilds will move across the reels but will not fall off the board again. All bonuses in Raging Rex 2 can also be retriggered by landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter icons simultaneously!
